"I Love the 80's"
May 16, 2008 by Jennifer BryanYes, I am an 80's nut though mostly with the 80's music. I had my favorite TV shows too. It's the music that takes me back in time when I was young and innocent.
I was into Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, My Little Pony, Little House on the Prairie, Punky Brewster and WWF wrestling.
There are three songs that are my all time favorites from the 80's. A-ha's Take on Me, Dire Straits I want my MTV and Walk of Life.
I have a collection of approximately 600 songs with 85% of them being songs from the 80's. (Yes, they are legally all mine and are by the original artists).
Another thing I recently got into is reminisching about video games from the 80's. Actually, I have for sometime I just had the opportunity recently to act on it.
At the age of six I had an Atari 26000 system, then at age 10 my brother and I were given the original Nintendo.
Years later as an adult I bought a Sega Genesis system. My kids became hooked on it when they got old enough to play video games.
In early 2008 I ended up buying a Nintendo Wii after I found out that you could download many of the classic Nintendo games that I knew and played as a young child.
My oldest child has often asked me about things I did when I was her age so it is great when I get to show her the games I used to play. I am amazed too that she enjoys the 80's music just as much as I do.
It's great sometimes to go back and reminisce. I know I have learned many things about myself. I have also enjoyed telling my daughter about my life as a child and having the opportunity to show her games I've played, music I've listened to and the tv shows I watched..
