Work at Home
Most of us know someone who is or has worked from home. There are so
many home based opportunities to work at home though very little yield
anything but misery. There are a few people I know that have
flexible jobs outside the home that allow them at times to work at
home. Still, they have to commute back and forth plus there is still
the stress of working with others and having a boss.
When I became a mom for the first time, I was a stay at home mom. It
was something my now ex husband and I had agreed upon before our
daughter was born. Being that I was going to be a new mom I didn't
particularly want anyone else watching my child while I worked. Child
care is expensive and I didn't trust anyone.
A few years later when I became pregnant with our second child, I
wanted to find something to do from home to interact with other moms. I
spent countless hours online looking for things I could do from home
and make money. Ebay was something I was already doing. I just
could not find items to sell on a stable basis. I was always hoping I
could find something that would help me create an income allowing me to
continue staying at home.
There were opportunities in my area but I had to sell, however, around me was already saturated.
Still, I searched and searched for the opportunity to legitimately make
money from home. One plan I came across sounded appealing but no one
would explain to me how you could make money without selling yet you
had to buy products every month to stay in the group?
I bought memberships and books to no avail. I dipped into the drop
shipping idea and then got burned. I stayed away from the internet for
years until I decided to return to school. Still, I wanted to make
money from home so I could do more things with and for my kids.
In early 2008, a friend from my church who is also a registered nurse,
invited me to her home. She was going to tell some of us from church
about her business. No one had known she had a business until someone
from the church was seeking a way to make a supplemental income.
Apparently her ears perked up which lead her to the desire to help out.
Honestly, I thought great, another home business opportunity so someone
else can make the money while I lose out. Then this business became the
talk of the church and yes, it did cause a negative stir for awhile.
Some of my friends and I discussed this business one day then realized
that our friend was taking a huge risk introducing us to her business.
Obviously she was very confident in what she was doing to tell us about
it.
I was confused for awhile about the business. I continued to ask
questions. In fact, my good friend Janice and I set up a meeting to
speak with our team leader.
